Here you can order metal letters and numbers in Aluminum (brushed or painted), Brass, or Copper, in 5 size ranges (from 3 to 30 cm high) and in any font. Larger letters can be ordered by special order.
Letter height: It’s calculated by height of lower case “a”, or the Hebrew “Alef”.
Available height ranges are:
– 3-5 cm (1.2-2″)
– 5-8 cm (2-3.2″)
– 8-13 cm (3.2-5.1″)
– 13-20 cm (5.1-7.8″)
– 20-30 cm (7.8-11.8″)
Natural Aluminum is a relatively soft metal that does not change its silvery color over time, even in outdoor weather conditions. Aluminum does not rust.
Brass
Brass is an alloy composed of the elements copper and zinc. The color of brass is the same as the color of gold but, like silver, if not cleaned from time to time it darkens to a brown color. In the two pictures below you can see an old object made of brass, before and after cleaning:
Brass cleaning: You can find many metal cleaning products on the market, and you can also use a small amount of “00” toilet cleaner (Containing 9% hydrochloric acid) on a soft cloth.
Copper
Natural Copper is reddish when clean, but it gets darker quite quickly, especially when outdoors, to become dark Brown. Copper does not rust.
What size is right for me?
If you are undecided send Ugo a picture of the place for assembly that includes dimensions. Please take a picture from the front – not from the side. We will prepare a computer simulation and then we will know what font size is most suitable for your project. Ugo’s WhatsApp: 050-5800120
How to mount the metal letters
Preparation
Mark a line on the wall / door with a pencil or masking tape
Mark the center of the text line
Start mounting the letters from the center to the right, and from the center to the left
Gluing metal letters
For gluing metal letters we recommend using “Super 7” or “Super 7 Hi-Tack” silicone glue (stronger).
Place the glue on the back of the letter, only in the wider areas of it. Put in a generous amount but be careful not too much that the glue does not slide off the side when sticking to the surface.
Place the letter in place and press it gently. For a few seconds after clicking, you can still reposition the letter (a few millimeters) to align it with the line of text.
Do not touch the letters for at least 12 hours. When the weather is particularly hot it is recommended to perform the gluing with silicone glue in the evening.
Gluing the Hebrew metal letters on stone:
In addition to silicone glue, marble glue can be used, which is an epoxy glue. In this case it is advisable to search for a professional with experience in this type of work.
Screwing of metal letters
Set the letter in its proper place on the door
Mark with a pencil (through the holes) a mark on the door and then remove the letter Wooden door / fence: Screw the screw up to about half its length, then screw it back out Steel door / fence: Drill small holes in the points you marked. Use a 2 mm diameter “metal-wood” drill bit
Set the signal back in place and screw the screws to the door / fence through the letter
Warning: Be careful that the screwdriver does not “escape” and scratch the letter!
In addition, it is recommended to use latex gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on the metal. In such case remove them with a little vinegar on a soft cloth.
