Bar & Bar Mitzvah Plates

Our Bat & Bar Mitzvah Plates are Bar/Bat Mitzva certificates bringing the details of the Bat or Bar Mizvah celebration on a hand made ceramic tile.
Each Bar & Bat Mitzvah Plate carries the common and Hebrew date of the Bat/Bar Mizva celebration; the name of the Parashah (Torah portion) of the celebration's day; the Boy's or Girl's English and Hebrew names, and extra custom details as the name of the congregation, the name of the Rabbi or Cantor who taught the boy, or few greeting words.

The design of the Ceramic Bat & Bar Mitzvah Plate divides it into two parts, the decoration area and the personal inscription area.
The plates are decorated using a mixed technique combining hand painting (8 colors) and silkscreening of black outlines.
All inscriptions are hand written by me.
Every tile is washable in case of need.

Follows some information about the Decoration and Custom Inscription areas:

The Decoration Area

The surrounding decoration of the Bar & Bat Mitzvah Plate is a composition of few main landmarks of the Jerusalem skyline and different Bar and Bat Mitzvah symbols.

On the left decoration panel:

- The Tower of David and the Dome of the Rock
- The old city walls with the Hebrew text from Mishlei, Book of Proverbs (4,2) reading Ki lekach tov natati lachem, torati al ta'azovu (For I give you good doctrine; forsake ye not my teaching)
- Mount Zion
- Montefiore Windmill
- YMCA building
- Shrine of the Book at Israel Museum
- Western Wall (Kotel Hama'aravi)
- Rampant lion, symbol of the tribe of Judah and Jerusalem.

On the right decoration panel:

- Tablets of the covenant with a crown and the Hebrew words Keter Torah (Torah Crown)
- For boys: a pair of Tefillin (phylacteries) along with the Hebrew letters Bet-Samech-Daled, the acronim of Besyatah Deshmayah (Aramaic: "With God's Help")
- For girls: a pair of Shabbat Candles
- A partly unrolled Torah Scroll
- Two illustrations of Torah reading.

The Custom Inscription Area

This part of the Bar Mitzvah Plate carries the personal details of the Bar/Bat Mizvah, in Hebrew and English. It is written according to the information you supply during the order process.
Please note that the entire inscription is written with a free hand, and therefore the lettering differs slightly with each name or letter combination.

The central area of the Bar and Bat Mitzva plate carries two sets of details, a standard inscription of the Bar-Bat Mitzvah's name and ceremony, and optional additional details.

The inscription elements:

- Date of event according to Regular and Jewish calendars
- Hebrew name of the Parasha (portion of the Torah) read by the Boy
- Boy's or Girl Jewish name, in Hebrew letters
- Boy's or girl's English name, in Latin letters
OF COURSE, if you ask to add the family name as well, the font size will be smaller

- The sentence: "Was called up to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah" (or "Bat Mitzvah" for a girl)

Additional details:

In the lower part of the inscription area of the plate, there is place for two additional details: at left you may ask for congregation's name and location, while at right you can have added the name of the Cantor or of the Rabbi who taught the boy, or a very short greeting like "Mazel Tov from Aba & Ima".
